Aphrodisiacs, the spicy herbs!

We have many things to thank the Greek Goddess Aphrodite for, including but not limited to, Aphrodisiacs.

We have many things to thank the Greek Goddess Aphrodite for, including but not limited to, Aphrodisiacs. Named for her in all her horny-ness, aphrodisiacs are essentially all things food or herb that make you tingle. I won't lie to you, most aphrodisiacs are actually a placebo in the sense that they don't directly make you horny, their main job is to regulate hormones within the body. However, that hasn't stopped people from using aphrodisiacs to cum-together for literal centuries and swearing by them. Lubes, teas, or your standard multivitamin style supplement are the most common route to take when it comes to aphrodisiacs, but there are also oils/lotions, bath products, perfumes, candles, loads of options.

There are so many forms of aphrodisiacs these days; from classics like chocolate-covered-strawberries, oysters or champagne to more herbal options like horny goat weed and ginseng. I think we all understand the legends around chocolate strawberries and why that may be an enticing snack, but seriously why oysters? I never understood how a slimy sea creature could make things more exciting in the bedroom, not to mention the potential for bad breath afterwards. Besides improving libido, and helping with erectile dysfunction, some of these herbs have some really interesting effects. For example let's talk about my personal favourites; fenugreek and horny goat weed.

Fenugreek is a commonly used aphrodisiac that is definitely more than meets the eye. It has the basic aphrodisiac properties such as the ability to increase sexual desire (libido) and help stiffen things up, but it is much more than that. It can improve/reduce the symptoms of aunt flow, as well as helping with hormone balancing for those going through menopause. It can promote breast milk production for nursing parents, and for those who aren't nursing it may cause your ta-tas to grow! Taking regular supplements will also make you taste and smell way sweeter, not just in your sweat but in your juices too.

Horny goat weed is probably the most common of aphrodisiacs, the king if you will. Similar to fenugreek, horny goat weed can help your soldier stand taller or keep your curtains moist. It’s also another regulator for the side effects of menopause or the monthly shed. The most interesting thing to me is that horny goat weed typically mimics estrogen within a female body, which is an incredible help for boosting your sex drive but can also come with some risk. The very thing that works about horny goat weed is also what could make it dangerous. Because it mimics estrogen, horny goat weed can cause further problems for those already battling or at high risk of cervical/uterine/ovarian or breast cancer. For anyone struggling there are many options besides horny goat weed! Please be sure to do your own research or speak to a healthcare professional to be sure about what to use.

There are many forms of aphrodisiacs available today for any body, and they can add a certain something to your intimacy, with yourself or a partner! Whether you're looking to stand taller, get wetter, or simply add a new level of spice to the bedroom, aphrodisiacs in all forms have your back!

Thanks for reading! Till next time on my little blog <3
